Fueled by our 60 Days of Growth, April was the most eventful month in our history. Shoutout to the entire Syntropy team who worked extra hours to execute on every deliverable.

The world is decentralizing at a rapid pace, yet all of this decentralization is being built on a highly-centralized, unsecure public internet with suboptimal performance. Crypto and the world at large needs Syntropy more than ever.

With all the major pieces in place, our tech team is now working to integrate each component in anticipation of full network launch. Before we look ahead, let’s pause to review what we achieved in April, as this will set the stage for the months ahead.

Major highlights include:

Syntropy Stack Self-Service

Last month, we launched Syntropy Stack — you can now use our tech to connect networks, applications, and services that will automatically ride on our network upon full launch.

Syntropy Stack is a set of tech and tools that lets developers connect applications, services, and entire networks with encrypted Syntropy connections. Upon full network launch, these connections will automatically ride on the Syntropy network, improving security, speed, and uptime.

The Syntropy Network rides right on top of the existing public Internet but adds automatic encryption and route optimization. The result is a faster, safer Internet for all.

Meltem Demirors Joins Syntropy to Launch Alliance

Blockchain investor and thought leader Meltem Demirors joined the Syntropy strategic advisory board to lead our Alliance for an Open Internet initiative. This Alliance will be a unified hub for discussion and action around data privacy, user rights, and fair access.

This initiative will be another driving force behind Syntropy adoption. With deep experience and relationships across the crypto space, Meltem will be vital in positioning Syntropy as core blockchain infrastructure.

If we want a decentralized world, we need to solve issues present in the current internet. This Alliance will bring major projects and talents together to achieve that vision.

Syntropy Tokenomics & Staking

Last week, we were proud to introduce the Open Internet Economy: the alternative connectivity system for the public Internet. The result will be a safer, faster, more reliable internet experience while maintaining full compatibility with current internet protocols.

Syntropy CEO Domas and CTO Jonas dedicated an hour to a community AMA where they went through the Tokenomics, Staking, DARP, and the future of the Internet. Make sure to watch it on Crowdcast.

Genesis Node Event

Earlier this year, we completed three rounds of Community Access to verify our code stability while testing the ability to add and remove community nodes to our network pre-launch backbone. During Community Access, we exceeded our node targets several times, with dozens of community members connecting their devices and instances to the DARP network.

After the extensive work orchestrated by Syntropy Chief Technical Liaison William B. Norton, the first global intelligence layer for the Internet is here.

DARP is the decentralized autonomous routing protocol that Syntropy uses to understand and analyze the Internet’s pathways. DARP nodes constantly share latency information, creating a global intelligence layer to identify the optimal routes.

To simplify access and broaden community participation, tokens incentives will be enabled once DARP is connected with the rest of the tech stack to facilitate route optimizations. If you are interested in running a node, follow the tutorial down below.

In addition to community testing, the Syntropy team has been working to validate DARP’s routing improvements in other use cases. We recently completed initial DARP tests over the Starlink network to assess two questions: can a community node connected to Starlink act as a viable relay on the DARP network, and can the rest of the DARP network potentially improve Starlink’s own routing performance.

Initial tests were positive, but there is much more work to do. We saw encouraging improvements across many paths, but sizable jitter from the Starlink side may interfere with accuracy. We’re establishing additional infrastructure now to run larger tests with better accuracy. This will take time, but ensuring high confidence in result accuracy should be a priority.

Announcing DeWeb Hackathon 2021

When large numbers of dedicated people work in unison, amazing things happen. It’s time we bring these parties together for a multi-week, hyper-focused effort to accelerate the world’s adoption of DeWeb technologies.

Hackathon website

The opportunities to build on the next-gen web are limitless, yet several areas create immediate, high-value use cases. We’re hosting competitions across four categories: Blockchain, Gaming, IoT, and Software. Winners will receive their share of a $150,000 prize pool.

The hackathon will take place in several stages. When registration closes, participants will be given one week to submit their ideas. Participants whose ideas will be selected will be given two weeks to submit a solution. At the end of the hackathon, the submissions will be evaluated with an evaluation commission and mentors’ help.

Terraria Integration

Last month, we were happy to introduce yet another Syntropy Stack use case — Terraria. By using Syntropy, your gaming data is secure at the source. That’s useful on an individual level, but also has clear benefits for large communities like Terraria, which can be vulnerable to DDoS attacks, malware, and data extortion.

The public internet was not designed for fast and secure gameplay. By providing nano-segmented encryption, performance, and facilitation, Syntropy ensures an equitable and safe experience for players across any game or location. Read more in the article below.

Kickstarting our Community Referral Program

We’re launching a community referral program to reward you for referring candidates to Syntropy, which significantly contributes to the success of our project.

The referrer will be rewarded with a $1,000 bonus (in NOIA tokens) for every successful referral to any of our actively recruited positions found here. In addition, we have a list of priority roles that have higher referral bonus values of $3,000.

Technical Updates

We advise that you monitor tech updates regularly as they will consistently track our development towards full launch.

Thank you for supporting us throughout our journey. Don’t forget to follow us on Medium, Twitter, Reddit, or Facebook to be up to date with our most recent news. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to our community managers on Telegram. See you in the next monthly update!
